Perhaps somebody has already posted this before and I missed it!

I just noticed that Ubuntu is mentioned in the l33t subtitles  of The IT Crowd Season 1 Episode 1.  It’s rather embarrassing since I bought the DVD when I was in London in July of 2007 and just now watched the whole episode with the subtitles on.

See. the driver hooks the function by patching the system call table,
so it’s not safe to unload it unless another thread’s about to jump in
and do its stuff, and you don’t want to end up in the middle of invalid memory…
    Hello?

Surprisingly the episodes were released by BBC in WMV format with DRM long before they appeared on DVD. As it always happens it wasn’t long before they were un-DRMed and available on popular torrent sites.

The first time I watched IT Crowd was when my brother got them off the internet and carried with him when he came to India. I knew the DVD contained subtitles in various geek formats but I am not sure whether they are present in the video files I have for season one. :-)
